EDITORIAL RULES

Submissions
Essays to be published in Opus. Quaderno di storia, architettura, restauro, disegno must have between 15,000 and 30,000 characters (including notes) and must contain a number of images between 10 and 15.
The texts must be accompanied by a 300-word abstract both in Italian and English, with (min.3 – max. 5)  keywords in English.
Drafts for any corrections will be sent to the authors.

Text
Text files processed with a video-writing program must be saved with a .doc or rich text format, i.e. with an e-mail extension or delivered to digital media.
Citations of texts, single words, transcripts of websites or links retrieved from the web must be rewritten in the text file and never copied and pasted.
Use the Times New Roman font, body 12 for text, and body 10 for notes and image captions.
Always justify text, notes, and bibliography; do not begin with hyphens.
File name: Surname_Text - Surname_Captions
Texts are accepted in: Italian, English, French, Spanish.
The text can be articulated in paragraphs, possibly marked by headlines in Roman.
The use of bold is not recommended. Italics will be limited to: book titles and terms in foreign or “dead” languages (ex.: latin, ancient greek).

Quote
Quotes of single words or short passages are placed in high quotation marks (""); omissions or cuts in the quoted text use three ellipsis enclosed in parentheses; interpolations are indicated in Roman with square brackets [ ]; any gaps in the quoted text should be indicated using ellipsis inside square brackets [...]; intersections are enclosed in quotes ('').)

Note
The notes are numbered progressively in Arabic digits, and inserted into the footer.
The recall digit for each note must be super scripted and appear always before punctuation Es.: ....1.

Illustrations
The images accompanying the papers are published in color. Images must be provided as electronic media, with resolution of no less than 300 dpi (for an actual format of no less than 13x18 cm), in jpg.
References to the figures can be inserted into the text in parentheses using the abbreviation fig. E.s.: (Fig. 2); (figg.1-6).
The photographic material must be delivered separately and should never be included in the text file.
Images from archives, libraries and other public institutions must be accompanied by permits issued for reproduction in the volume and it is the author's responsability to obtain them. In addition, the author will make sure the captions show all necessary information as required by the institution that issued the authorization.
Provenance from private collections and archives should be stated in the caption [example: Rome, private collection].
In the captions relating to photographs, projects, plans, renderings by the author or others (authorized by the author) author and date must be indicated [example: photo M. Rossi, 2012; drawing M. Rossi, 2012; render by M. Rossi, 2012].

Captions
They must be numbered progressively to allow the identification of the image referenced following the order:
Author / Title / City, placement [no full stop]
References to the sources of the images follow the same rules as the bibliography quotes above: author's name followed by op. cit. and from the reference page or table; or: author name, abbreviated opera title followed by dots and reference page or table. The text must be mentioned in full if it does not appear in the bibliography section.

Numbers
Numbers are always in digits when reporting statistics or quantities; in discursive use, opt for the written name.

Abbreviations
For papers in English, French, Spanish, abbreviations will be agreed with the editorial staff
