Data privacy and retention
The Managing Director, the Executive Committee and members of the Editorial Staff undertake not to disclose information about the submitted papers to other people other than the author, referees and publisher.
The Editorial Staff keeps in a confidential database the results of the reporting processes of the papers, allowed or not to be published.
Conflict of interest and transparency
The Managing Director, the Executive Committee and members of the Editorial Staff undertake not to use in their own research the contents of a paper submitted for publication without the written consent of the author.

Collaboration with a reviewer will be interrupted if the evaluation process standards have not been met at any moment, time or way.
Referee duties
Contribution to the editorial decision
Peer-review is a procedure that helps editors make decisions about the papers submitted and can help the author to improve their contribution.
Respect for the times
The referee who does not feel adequate to the task proposed or who knows that they cannot carry out the reading on the required time is obliged to report in a timely manner to the Executive Committee.
Confidentiality
Any text, assigned to referees anonymously, must be considered confidential. Therefore, such texts should not be discussed with others without explicit permission from the Executive Committee.
Objectivity
Peer-review must be conducted objectively. Any personal judgment on the author is inappropriate. Referees are required to adequately justify their judgments according to a standardized card provided to them by the Executive Committee.
Text indications
The referees undertake to indicate the bibliographic extension of fundamental works possibly overlooked by the author. The referee must also report to the editors any similarities or appropriations of other works known to them found during the reading process.
Conflict of interest and disclosure
Confidential information or guidance obtained during the peer-review process must be considered confidential and cannot be used for personal purposes. If the referee identifies the paternity of the test submitted to their assessment and there are conflicts of interest due to previous collaborative relationships, they are obliged not to accept the assessment, the same is true in the event of a competitive situation.
If the referee calls for changes to the text as the condition of its publication, and the Managing Director and Executive Committee judge it to be appropriate, it may verify its adoption by the author – where the author decides to accept them – before giving definitive consent to the publication.
Author duties
Originality and plagiarism
The authors are required to submit for appreciation unpublished and original contributions in all their parts and to cite, according to editorial rules, all the texts used.
Multiple, repetitive and/or concurrent publications
The author undertakes not to publish essays that present the same research in more than one journal. To present the same text to more than one journal at the same time is a behavior considered inappropriate to the normal functioning of the scientific community.
Specifying sources
The author must always provide the correct indication of the sources and contributions mentioned in the essay.
Authorship of the work
The author who sends the text to the evaluation must ensure that all those who have made a significant contribution to the idealization, implementation and reworking of the research underlying the essay appear as co-authors, and that they have given their approval to the final version of the essay and its publication.
If other people have participated significantly in certain stages of the research, their contribution must be explicitly recognized, in the manner normally adopted by the scientific community.
Conflict of interest and disclosure
In presenting their contribution to Opus. Quaderno di storia, architettura, restauro, disegno, the authors implicitly admit that there are no conflicts of interest that may have affected the results achieved or the interpretations proposed. The authors must also indicate any financial source of the research and/or project through which the paper was carried out.
